جدیدترین خبرهایی که از بریتانیا حکایت از این دارند که از ماه ژانویه 2021 ، بریتانیا از سیستم مهاجرتی مبتنی بر امتیاز جدید خود رونمایی کرده و این بدین معنی است که متقاضیان مهاجرت به بریتانیا باید حدنصاب امتیاز را کسب کنند تا بتوانند ویزای کاری یا تحصیلی دریافت کنند.

بدین ترتیب، بریتانیا نیز از لحاظ سیستم مهاجرتی به جمع فرزندان خود یعنی نیوزیلند، کانادا و استرالیا پیوست.

گفتنی است این سیستم مهاجرتی بین شهروندان اتحادیه اروپا و شهروندان خارج از اتحادیه اروپا تبعیضی قائل نمی شود اما شهروندان اتحادیه اروپا می توانند از مزایایی نظیر ویزای الکترونیک و آپلود عکس به صورت آنلاین برخوردار باشند. همزمان با این تغییرات انگلستان لیست مشاغل مورد نیاز خود را در سال 2021 اعلام کرد.
